Reimagine Challenge

Reimagine Challenge

The Challenge

The Reimagine Challenge is a unique programme that brings ideas and best practice from across the Civil Service and private sector to show how approaches to certain public services can be ‘reimagined’.

The challenge exemplifies the change, pace and thinking needed to deliver the Civil Service vision, A Brilliant Civil Service.

Following the success of the Reimagine Challenge in 2016, we are delighted that we will be running the Reimagine Challenge again at Civil Service Live 2017, looking at a new set of challenges affecting the Civil Service.

The format

Led by KPMG and Cabinet Office, and personally endorsed by the Chief Executive, John Manzoni, four teams of civil servants will be asked to ‘reimagine’ some approaches to tackling some of the biggest challenges facing government.

The teams are drawn from Civil Service talent schemes, and include Senior Civil Servants, grade 6, and grade 7 staff and fast streamers.

Each team focuses on a particular cross-government challenge, and will be asked to come up with an innovative and forward-thinking solution. Teams will be supported by, and have access to, KPMG’s facilities and networks, to help challenge conventional wisdom and come up with effective and advanced outcomes.

At Civil Service Live London, teams will present before the sponsoring Permanent Secretaries and senior KPMG partners. The panel will choose a winning team, who will be named at the event, and will have the opportunity to pilot their approach.

Applications to join the 2017 challenge will open shortly. Keep checking back for further information on how you can be involved in this year’s challenge.
